I feel there is some prejudice towards people who come from ethnic backgrounds that are not well represented within the pharmacy profession.
The RPS and UKBPA have written jointly to ministers in England, Scotland and Wales calling for support for BAME pharmacists and team members.
Some members of staff made it so obvious that I was black. Anytime I opened the conversation with them they never spoke to me.
It catches people by surprise that they are called out on it. In the past this has given me the impression that all forms of racism still exist everywhere.
I really hope this doesn’t come across as self-indulgent, but I know it may do, so apologies if that’s the case.
